Feature Spotlight – Paging Relay Auto-Provisioning Tool for Cisco Paging
Reliable connectivity is a critical requirement for our customers. It’s important to have a contingency communication plan in the event of network disruptions. Together, Syn-Apps’ Revolution notification software and Paging Relay hardware can help customers meet their communication plan and provide protection in the event of a network disruption.
To support system resiliency, the Revolution software can be configured to auto-deploy Cisco phones within a multicast sub-net or specific user tags to a Paging Relay device. By doing so, this keeps the Paging Relay device list up-to-date so that customers can perform one-way live paging up to 500 Cisco phones in the event that Revolution becomes unavailable.
This feature is particularly beneficial for customers with remote locations that requires connectivity at all times and needs a reliable communication plan in the event of a network disruption.
How it works with Revolution and the Paging Relay:
During normal operations, notifications are answered by your Revolution software. If the site experiences a network disruption and your Revolution server becomes unavailable, your notifications will be routed to your local Paging Relay via backup call control. In resiliency mode, users can pick up a phone and dial the same pre-configured extension they’re trained to use. This dialed extension will reach reach the local Paging Relay and broadcast a live page to your Cisco IP phones (up to 500 total).
